Organic Orchid Potting Bark

Our pine tree bark is 100% organic material without any unnatural or synthetic additives. It is sourced and produced in the United States. We add a little bit of lime to properly control pH. This tree bark is perfect for using alone as bark for planting or re-potting your orchids as well as a soilless medium for creating your own orchid potting mix with other media such as charcoal, perlite, and more. Various pine and pine barks will work with varying degrees of success with orchids. However, for best results, we choose to use pine bark pieces from mature Loblolly and Southern Yellow Pine trees that will provide even chunks to provide enough aeration. USES: Works well with: Cattleyas, Phalaenopsis, Dendrobiums, Paphiopedilums, Oncidiums, and All Epiphytic Orchids. It is also perfect for other plants that have special roots that feed from the air and need air flow Tillandsia (air plants) and bromeliads TIP: You may want to soak your bark in hot water for half an hour before potting so that it will more easily absorb water. Birds of Paradise Potting Soil Mix

Birds of Paradise, Strelitzia reginae, will thrive in well-draining soil. This soil mixture includes a balance of peat moss, perlite, and lime. Peat moss is great for water retention and nutrient retention to soil. It is also a great source of organic matter that will degrade slowly over time to feed your soil. Perlite has excellent drainage capabilities. Lime is used primarily for its ability to balance soil pH levels. Other Uses: This potting soil would also be suitable for Red Chinese Evergreen plants, Magenta Madagascar Dragon Tree plants, or ZZ plant. TIP: Birds of Paradise enjoy moist (but not soggy) soil, and being allowed to dry out slightly between waterings. Try not to let the soil dry completely through the pot, but also avoid overwatering. Allow the top 2-3 inches of the soil to become dry between waterings, but below that, it should remain moist. Ingredients: Peat moss, perlite, and lime

Hoya Plant Potting Soil Mix

We hand blend this mixture to be specifically geared towards providing your exotic Hoya plants with the correct nutrients and growing environment. Most Hoya are epiphytic and are used to having rich matter fall on them from above. Because they are epiphytes just like orchids and need excellent drainage, the mulch is an ideal additive. TIP: Like other succulents, hoya plants don’t respond well to soggy roots. Water only when the top few inches of soil are dried out. Make sure you use a pot with good drainage holes.
