Premium Anthurium Indoor Houseplant Potting Soil Mix

Give your Anthurium a potting mix made specifically for its growing needs! Whether you're potting a new plant, moving a root-bound Anthurium into a larger container, or replacing old, compacted growing media, Soil Sunrise Anthurium Plant Potting Soil Mix combines quality ingredients in a convenient, ready-to-use blend for container-grown Anthurium plants.

Specially formulated for Anthuriums that prefer an airy, well-structured growing medium, this blend combines moisture-retaining peat moss with perlite, pine mulch, horticultural charcoal, and coarse sand to support drainage, aeration, and a healthy root environment. Lime helps adjust pH as part of the formulation, creating an indoor houseplant potting mix that’s ready to use straight from the bag.

Key Benefits:

  • Plant-Specific Formula: Specifically formulated for container-grown Anthurium plants and their unique growing needs.
  • Balanced Drainage & Moisture: Peat moss helps retain useful moisture, while perlite, pine mulch, horticultural charcoal, and coarse sand help create air space and support drainage throughout the mix.
  • Pre-Blended & Ready to Use: Use this Anthurium potting soil straight from the bag with no need to purchase, measure, or mix several separate soil components.
  • Quality Ingredients: Contains peat moss, perlite, pine mulch, horticultural charcoal, coarse sand, and lime.

How Much Anthurium Potting Soil Do I Need?

Choose the bag size that best fits your Anthurium repotting project. The actual amount needed will vary depending on container size, root-ball size, and how much existing media is removed.

4 qt: Small Anthurium plants, individual repotting projects, or several small containers.
8 qt: Medium Anthurium plants, larger containers, or multiple smaller repotting projects.

Why This Desert Rose Soil Blend Works:

Peat Moss: Helps retain useful moisture while contributing organic material and lightweight structure to the growing medium.
Horticultural Perlite: Adds organic structure while helping create air space throughout the mix while supporting drainage and root aeration.
Pine Mulch: Adds organic material and structure while helping maintain a loose texture throughout the mix.
Horticultural Charcoal: Adds porous material that contributes to the mix’s overall structure and aeration
Coarse Sand: Adds texture and contributes to drainage throughout the potting mix.
Lime: Helps adjust pH as part of the overall formulation.

The ingredients in this soil can be used for any houseplant, minus cactus. You just have to modify soil by adding more rocky stuff or not. For certain anthuriums, esp the ones w/ a stocky, root system, close to orchids (see pic) you have to add more lava rocks, pumice, perlite, charcoal, etc. For my A. Crystallinum, I added more rocky stuff. It just depends on the genus of your foliage plant.

I inherited an anthurium from my grandma when she passed. It wasn't in horrible shape, but definitely needed repotted. I had looked at some other places for soil, but it was either expensive, or a HUGE amount. I only needed a little bit of soil. It is a little pricey, because it's specifically for anthurium plants. But it seems to be working great for my plant! Leaves look good, no brown or yellow leaves, and the soil seems perfect for anthuriums, based on what Google recommended. Overall, good product, and I'd recommend for your plants!

1. Choose the Right Container
Select a clean container with adequate drainage holes and enough room for the plant’s root system.

2. Add Potting Mix
Place a layer of potting mix in the bottom of the container, adding enough so the plant will sit at the proper height.

3. Position the Plant
Gently remove the plant from its existing container, loosen compacted roots if needed, and place it in the center of the new container.

4. Fill Around the Roots
Add additional potting mix around the root ball, filling the container while leaving a small amount of space below the rim. Gently settle the mix without packing it too tightly.

5. Water & Allow to Drain
Water thoroughly after potting and allow excess water to drain completely. Continue caring for the plant according to its specific watering, light, and growing requirements.
