Terrarium Potting Soil Mix

At Soil Sunrise, we hand-blend each soil mixture to ensure you get quality every single time. This blend is a mixture of coco coir, pumice, and horticultural charcoal. This is a great blend for growing ferns, African violets, and other popular terrarium or fairy garden plants. With these ingredients, you get great drainage, nutrient retention, water retention, and harbor healthy b@cteria to break down toxins. TIP: For closed-top terrariums, plants should be compact, humidity-loving and low-light compatible. Good choices are mosses and ferns, as well as orchids, bromeliads and many other easy-to-find houseplants. Avoid plants that prefer bright light and low humidity such as cactuses, succulents and most herbs [though mint is okay] — this 2nd group of plants work well in an open-top terrarium. Our soil mix will work with either type of terrarium. INGREDIENTS: coconut coir, pumice, and horticultural charcoal.

Plant Propagation Potting Mix

This mixture provides a great starter mix for propagating plants. Use this sterile blend to ensure your cuttings end up happy and healthy and can thrive even after the initial rooting stage. This is a high drainage mixture of peat moss, perlite, worm castings, and a bit of lime for pH balance. Provide natural nutrition in a fast-draining environment, perfect for starting new plants from cuttings. TIP: Propagating cuttings can be done a few ways. While most cuttings can take root easily and effectively in a high drainage soil medium such as this one, some gardeners choose to start theirs in water or use a rooting hormone, and then transfer to soil. Both ways work, but using a soil such as this is important in both cases to ensure proper nutrition and provide high drainage to eliminate root rot. INGREDIENTS: peat moss, perlite, worm castings, and lime for pH balance.

Coco Peat Perlite Potting Mix

Our coco coir is double washed to ensure the best coco “peat,” free of dust, foreign objects, or particles that make the coir "muddy" when wet. You can plant directly in this mix with no additional ingredients. It won't compact and allows root aeration and productive growth. It is pH Balanced to create an ideal growing environment for many types of potted plants indoor or outdoor. This mixture is blended with container gardening in mind. It works like a sponge retaining moisture while still allowing drainage. This type of potting medium works great for houseplants such as Crotons, Lemon Lime Dracaena, Golden Pothos, Lucky Bamboo, Snake Plants, “Herb” growing and Peace Lilies. TIP: Coconut coir is not especially heavy in nutrients. Please research your specific plant needs before introducing a new product. INGREDIENTS: Coconut coir and perlite.
