Premium Coco Coir & Perlite Indoor Houseplant Potting Mix

Create a lightweight, versatile growing medium with Soil Sunrise Coco Peat Perlite Potting Mix! Whether you're potting a new houseplant, repotting an established plant, starting a propagation project, or creating your own custom soil blend, this simple two-ingredient mix combines quality materials in a convenient, ready-to-use growing medium.

Made with moisture-retaining coco coir and lightweight horticultural perlite, this blend helps support drainage, aeration, and a healthy root environment. The combination creates a loose, well-structured growing medium that can be used on its own for compatible plants or incorporated into custom potting mixes.

Key Benefits:

  • Simple Two-Ingredient Formula: Made with coco coir and horticultural perlite for a lightweight, versatile growing medium.
  • Balanced Drainage & Moisture: Coco coir helps retain useful moisture, while horticultural perlite helps create air space and support drainage throughout the mix.
  • Pre-Blended & Ready to Use: Use this coco peat and perlite potting mix straight from the bag with no need to purchase, measure, or mix several separate soil components.
  • Quality Ingredients: Contains only coco coir and horticultural perlite.

How Much Coco Peat Perlite Potting Mix Do I Need?

Choose the bag size that best fits your potting, repotting, or growing project. The actual amount needed will vary depending on container size, root-ball size, and how much existing media is removed.

2 qt: Small plants, individual containers, or small propagation projects.
4 qt: Small to medium plants or several compact containers.
8 qt: Medium plants, larger containers, or multiple potting projects.
12 qt: Larger plants, larger containers, or multiple repotting projects.

Why This Coco Peat Perlite Blend Works:

Coco Coir: Help retain useful moisture while contributing organic material and lightweight structure to the growing medium.
Horticultural Perlite: Adds organic structure while helping create air space throughout the mix while supporting drainage and root aeration.

Together, coco coir and perlite create a simple growing medium that balances moisture retention with aeration and drainage.

Why Choose Soil Sunrise Coco Peat Perlite Potting Mix?

Soil Sunrise Coco Peat Perlite Potting Mix takes the guesswork out of combining two popular growing-media ingredients. This ready-to-use blend combines moisture-retaining coco coir with porous horticultural perlite to support drainage, aeration, and a lightweight root environment—without the need to purchase and mix the components separately.

Ideal for many container-grown houseplants, propagation projects, seed-starting applications, and custom DIY soil blends, whether you're potting a new plant, repotting an established specimen, or modifying an existing growing medium.

I am in the process of repotting plants that have grown over the summer getting them ready to bring in side. He's looking for a soilless option. I have tried a few different brands but I was not impressed. I stumbled upon this one and the reviews we're good, it looks like a decent quality from the photos and the price was good. It is aGreat well draining potting medium and now that I have been using it for a couple of months. I can say it is by far my favorite and I will continue to use it!

1. Choose the Right Container
Select a clean container with adequate drainage holes and enough room for the plant’s root system.

2. Add Potting Mix
Place a layer of potting mix in the bottom of the container, adding enough so the plant will sit at the proper height.

3. Position the Plant
Gently remove the plant from its existing container, loosen compacted roots if needed, and place it in the center of the new container.

4. Fill Around the Roots
Add additional potting mix around the root ball, filling the container while leaving a small amount of space below the rim. Gently settle the mix without packing it too tightly.

5. Water & Allow to Drain
Water thoroughly after potting and allow excess water to drain completely. Continue caring for the plant according to its specific watering, light, and growing requirements.
