Premium Acid Loving Plant Indoor & Outdoor Potting Soil Mix

Give your acid-loving plants a potting mix made specifically for their growing needs! Whether you're potting a new plant, moving a root-bound specimen into a larger container, or replacing old, compacted growing media, Soil Sunrise Acid Loving Plant Potting Soil Mix combines quality ingredients in a convenient, ready-to-use blend for container-grown acid-loving plants.

Specially formulated for plants that prefer a more acidic growing environment, this blend combines peat moss, sphagnum moss, pine mulch, and pine needles with vermiculite to support drainage, aeration, and a healthy root environment. The combination of natural organic materials creates a ready-to-use potting mix designed for a variety of acid-loving plants.

Key Benefits:

  • Plant-Specific Formula: Specifically formulated for container-grown plants that prefer acidic growing conditions.
  • Balanced Drainage & Moisture: Peat moss, sphagnum moss, pine mulch, and pine needles help retain useful moisture and provide organic structure, while vermiculite helps maintain a lightweight, aerated growing medium.
  • Pre-Blended & Ready to Use: Use this acid loving plant potting soil straight from the bag with no need to purchase, measure, or mix several separate soil components.
  • Quality Ingredients: Contains peat moss, sphagnum moss, pine mulch, pine needles, and vermiculite.

How Much Acid Loving Plant Potting Soil Do I Need?

Choose the bag size that best fits your potting or repotting project. The actual amount needed will vary depending on container size, root-ball size, and how much existing media is removed.

8 qt: Medium acid-loving plants or multiple smaller potting and repotting projects.
12 qt: Larger plants, larger containers, or multiple repotting projects.

Why This Acid Loving Plant Soil Blend Works:

Peat Moss & Sphagnum Moss: Help retain useful moisture while contributing to the naturally acidic character of the growing medium.
Pine Mulch: Adds organic material and structure while helping maintain a loose texture throughout the mix.
Pine Needles: Add natural organic material and contribute to the overall acidic formulation of the blend.
Vermiculite: Adds lightweight, porous particles that help retain moisture while maintaining air space throughout the growing medium.

Why Choose Soil Sunrise Acid Loving Plant Potting Soil?

Soil Sunrise Acid Loving Plant Potting Soil Mix takes the guesswork out of choosing and preparing a growing medium for plants that prefer acidic conditions. This ready-to-use blend combines moisture-retaining organic materials with lightweight vermiculite to support moisture balance, aeration, and a structured root environment—without the need to purchase and mix multiple soil components yourself.

Ideal for azaleas, hydrangeas, blueberries, camellias, gardenias, rhododendrons, and other container-grown acid-loving plants, whether you're potting a newly acquired plant, repotting an established specimen, or replacing old and compacted growing media.

I have tried 3 different types of soil from this brand. I repotted my lemon trees with this. Not sure it’s helping.. I so badly am trying to keep them alive. Not seeing much plant growth.

This was not even close to soil. It would not hold water at all. My azalea trees were sitting in a stagnate pond of water with this dry mix floating on the top hiding the issue. Unfortunately I realized this too late. The leaves and blooms suddenly fell off. I am now trying to save them from root rot.

Good mixture. Arrived quickly. Wish it were a bigger size. Good quality soil with the right amount of richness and moisture retention. Easy to use. We mixed it with our base soil along with more shredded pine bark, peat moss, coco coir, and perlite. It arrived free of gnats and other pests. My only gripe is that I wish it came in a bigger size.

1. Choose the Right Container
Select a clean container with adequate drainage holes and enough room for the plant’s root system.

2. Add Potting Mix
Place a layer of potting mix in the bottom of the container, adding enough so the plant will sit at the proper height.

3. Position the Plant
Gently remove the plant from its existing container, loosen compacted roots if needed, and place it in the center of the new container.

4. Fill Around the Roots
Add additional potting mix around the root ball, filling the container while leaving a small amount of space below the rim. Gently settle the mix without packing it too tightly.

5. Water & Allow to Drain
Water thoroughly after potting and allow excess water to drain completely. Continue caring for the plant according to its specific watering, light, and growing requirements.
