Premium Olive Tree Indoor Houseplant Potting Soil Mix

Give your olive tree a potting mix made specifically for its growing needs! Whether you're potting a young olive tree, moving a root-bound plant into a larger container, or replacing old, compacted growing media, Soil Sunrise Olive Tree Potting Soil Mix combines quality ingredients in a convenient, ready-to-use blend for container-grown olive trees.

Specially formulated for olive trees that prefer a loose, well-draining growing medium, this blend combines moisture-retaining peat moss with horticultural perlite and pumice to support drainage, aeration, and a healthy root environment. Lime helps balance the pH of the formulation, creating an indoor houseplant potting mix that’s ready to use straight from the bag.

Key Benefits:

  • Plant-Specific Formula: Specifically formulated for container-grown desert olive trees and their unique growing needs.
  • Balanced Drainage & Moisture: Peat moss helps retain useful moisture, while perlite and pumice help support drainage and air space throughout the mix.
  • Pre-Blended & Ready to Use: Use this Olive Tree potting soil straight from the bag with no need to purchase, measure, or mix several separate soil components.
  • Quality Ingredients: Contains peat moss, horticultural perlite, pumice, and lime.

How Much Olive Tree Potting Soil Do I Need?

Choose the bag size that best fits your Olive Tree repotting project. The actual amount needed will vary depending on container size, root-ball size, and how much existing media is removed.

8 qt: Medium olive trees or multiple smaller repotting projects.
12 qt: Larger olive trees, larger containers, or more substantial repotting projects.

Why This Olive Tree Soil Blend Works:

Peat Moss & Pumice: Help retain useful moisture and support aeration while contributing organic material and lightweight structure to the growing medium.
Horticultural Perlite: Adds organic structure while helping create air space throughout the mix while supporting drainage and root aeration.
Lime: Helps adjust pH as part of the overall formulation.

Why Choose Soil Sunrise Olive Tree Potting Soil?

Soil Sunrise Olive Tree Potting Soil Mix takes the guesswork out of choosing and preparing the right growing medium for your container-grown olive trees. This plant-specific, ready-to-use blend combines quality ingredients to support drainage, aeration, and moisture retention—without the need to purchase and mix multiple soil components yourself.

1. Choose the Right Container
Select a clean container with adequate drainage holes and enough room for the plant’s root system.

2. Add Potting Mix
Place a layer of potting mix in the bottom of the container, adding enough so the plant will sit at the proper height.

3. Position the Plant
Gently remove the plant from its existing container, loosen compacted roots if needed, and place it in the center of the new container.

4. Fill Around the Roots
Add additional potting mix around the root ball, filling the container while leaving a small amount of space below the rim. Gently settle the mix without packing it too tightly.

5. Water & Allow to Drain
Water thoroughly after potting and allow excess water to drain completely. Continue caring for the plant according to its specific watering, light, and growing requirements.

I ordered an olive tree sapling and needed the perfect soil to give it the best chance to thrive in zone 7. It’s been five months since planting it in a large patio pot and it’s doing wonderfully! This soil seems to be giving it what it needs!

I used this Soil Sunrise potting mix for my olive tree and really liked the texture and quality. It feels well balanced, drains nicely, and is easy to work with when repotting. A convenient option if you want a soil mix specifically made for olive trees and similar Mediterranean plants.

The olive trees wanted the best soil if they were going to survive on the High Plains of northern Texas. So far, they are flourishing in this special fortified soil, very happy! No olives anticipated for the first year or two, wherever they're planted in this country, but if I can keep them this healthy, we might be enjoying olives from right out our back door in the years that follow that.

I'm not a huge gardner. I have a few "hard to kill" plants around the house but got the bright idea to get an olive tree. After reading a lot of different pieces of advice on the best way to grow and care for the olive tree I landed on purchasing this soil. The biggest thing is that it needs to have a lot of drainage. I opted for not putting any stones in the bottom of the planter and was worried that was the wrong choice but after getting it all planted in the pot, this soil is perfect. Light and a ton of drainage. 9/10 would recommend.

Bought an olive tree for my wife for our one year anniversary and plan it in this with some added work castings soil and perlite . 6 weeks later the tree is out of its transplant shock and already shows new growth. Highly recommend getting this soil for anyone interested in olive tree propagation.
