Knowingly selling soil infested with Thrips! I lost the war today. I feel so defeated. I have no choice but to throw away majority of my plants. All the time, money and effort thrown away. I've been in tears for 2 months fighting this battle. They're impossible to get rid of. I've tried everything.

I have had the same palm tree in my apartment for over 12 years. It is the only plant I own. I re-potted it 6 years ago and it had been struggling lately so I decided to increase the pot size and get actual palm tree potting soil. I took out the palm, removed most of the dirt around the roots and replanted it with this product. Within about 1 week I started seeing gnats around the apartment (which I've never had before) and I finally tracked them down to the palm tree. It is inundated with gnats crawling all in the potting soil and flying around the house. We are going on three weeks and I have now had to buy Kneem Oil spray, sticky traps, hydrogen peroxide (to mix with water to try to kill them) and nothing is working. My only hope now is that I will take the palm out of the pot and try baking the soil to remove the gnats and the larvae. I can't believe that a palm that I have had for 12 years may have to be thrown away because of bad potting soil. I have now invested a ton of money if you include the price of the potting soil. I didn't want to be unfair with this company in case there was something I had done wrong to cause this but it would be impossible to be anything other than the soil. I also wanted to support some other business than Miracle Grow but now I'm totally regretting that. The potting soil was great but buyer beware of the gnat and who knows what other bugs might be in there.

The plants will grow well in this soil, it has enough perlite and good drainage. The 8 quarts bag can easily fill a 10 inch pot. But be aware that it has small bugs, I think are white mites that are harmless to the plant, but they can be annoying and can spread to other existing plants.

Discussed smell of mold in the bags and boxes that were delivered to me my whole house smell like mold and I am trying to get it out of house I am sick from this potting soil .I threw 2 bags away I already tried to use them because they were open all through box this is awful

My mini palm had been of deaths doorstep for months. Then it was recommended that the soil was wrong. In the two weeks since transport I have seen an increase in green growth and am hopeful my mini-palm will return to its glory!
